Participants learn universal precautions and proper hygiene practices including the use of personal protective equipment. The program covers emergency scene management techniques, teaching participants how to assess scene safety using the DRS approach (Dangers, Response, Send for help), conduct primary surveys focusing on Airway, Breathing, and Circulation, and properly activate emergency medical services. Essential Basic Life Support skills are thoroughly addressed, including CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants using the 30:2 compression-to-breath ratio, managing both conscious and unconscious choking victims, and proper recovery position placement. Participants gain expertise in managing various medical emergencies including airway and breathing emergencies, wound care and bleeding control, shock management, and musculoskeletal injuries. The course also covers specialized topics such as burns and scalds classification and treatment, environmental injuries including heat-related illnesses and hypothermia, poisoning response protocols, and recognition of serious medical conditions like heart attacks, strokes, and diabetic emergencies.
